117. Mary Ellen HUFSTEDLER was born on 19 Nov 1883 in Birdell, Randolph Co, AR. She died on 10 Dec 1977 in Randolph Co, AR. She was buried on 13 Dec 1977 in Randolph Co, AR. MRS. HOLLOWELL - Mrs. Mary Ellen Hollowell, 94, a lifelong resident of
Randolph County passed away Saturday in Randolph County Hospital. She
was born at Birdell, November 19, 1883, a daughter of the late Samuel
and Mary Pyland Hufstedler. Her husband, Hubert C. Hollowell preceded
her in death. She is survived by a son, Buddy Hollowell of Pocahontas;
a sister, Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Fielden, also of Pocahontas; 3
grandchildren. Another son, Walter Hollowell, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday in the Pyburn Street
Church of Christ with F. W. Gould officiating. Burial followed in Old
Union Cemetery with McNabb's in charge. Pallbearers were Clifton
Brown, Harold Bly, Jim Holder, Nixon Shivley, Bob Harvester, and John
L. Tiner.

She was married to Hubert Clayton HOLLOWELL on 2 Jan 1910 in Randolph Co, AR. Hubert Clayton HOLLOWELL was born on 20 Oct 1879 in AR. He died on 9 Jan 1954 in Jonesboro, Craighead Co, AR. He was buried on 10 Jan 1954 in Randolph Co, AR. H. C. HOLLOWELL - Hubert Clayton Hollowell, aged 74, well known
retired Pocahontas merchant, died in St. Bernard's Hospital in
Jonesboro early Tuesday nmorning after have undergone treatment there
for a short time. Mr. Hollowell was born Oct. 20, 1879, a son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Hollowell and had lived most of his life in
Pocahontas during which time he was engaged in the mercantile business
and served as postmaster here 11 years, from 1922 until April 1933.
He also had farming interests near Pocahontas and had given his
personal attention to caring for the farm. For many years he had been
a leader in the Republican party in Randolph county and in the state.
He had served as a member of the State Republican Executive Committee
and had been an attendant to numerous G.O.P. conventions. He had also
taken an active part in Church of Christ affairs. Funeral services
were conducted at the Church of Christ in Pocahontas at 2 o'clock
Wednesday afternoon by Bro. F. W. Gould. Pallbearers were Ralph
Murphy, Andrew Gwinn, Bill Russell, Edd Holt, Donald McCallister and
Noah Pace. Interment was in Old Union cemetery under the direction of
McNabb Funeral Home. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ella Hufstedler
Hollowell; two sons, Walter of Benton and H. F. (Buddy) of Pocahontas;
two grandchildren and a nephew. Mary Ellen HUFSTEDLER and Hubert Clayton HOLLOWELL had the following children:
