129. Martha Ann BATES was born on 7 Nov 1862 in Pocahontas, Randolph, Arkansas. She was born on 7 Nov 1862 in Pocahontas, Randolph Co, AR. She died on 12 Jun 1918 in Pocahontas, Randolph Co, AR.(40) She died on 18 Jul 1918 in Pocahontas, Randolph, Arkansas. Ann's daughter, Nancy Ann Million, died 1 Feb 1901, just four days after giving birth to her daughter, Nancy Ethel. Ann was nursing her own daughter, Essie, at the same time. After Nancy died, Ann took Ethel in and nursed her granddaugher at the same time that she was nursing her daughter, Essie.

The 1910 Randolph County Census lists in the household of Marion and Ann Sutton six of their own chidren, including Essie, age 9, and Ethel Million, granddaughter, age 9.

Marion Frank SUTTON was born on 23 Apr 1859. He died on 6 Feb 1931. Martha Ann BATES and Marion Frank SUTTON had the following children:

She was married to Francis Marion SUTTON (son of James Franklin M. SUTTON and Ann NOBLIN) on 25 May 1879 in Pocahontas, Randolph Co, AR. Ann and James F. were married at the home of Ann's father, Samuel J. Noblin by Esquire Robert Lane. Francis Marion SUTTON was born on 23 Apr 1858 in Pocahontas, Randolph Co, AR. (38) He died on 6 Feb 1931 in Pocahontas, Randolph Co, AR. (38)(40) Marion's obituary appeared in the Feb. 12, 1931 Pocahontas Star Herald.

Uncle Marion Sutton, pioneer citizen of Randolph county, died last Friday, Feb. 6, at th home of his son, Vass Sutton, near town, following an illness of about eight days with pneumonia. All his children were present at his passing.

Uncle Marion was known as a constructive citizen, having devoted much of his time during his long and useful life to community and church work. Martha Ann BATES and Francis Marion SUTTON had the following children:
