Pocahontas, a life-long resident of Randolph County, passed away in
Randolph County Hospital, Monday. A member of one of the pioneer
families of Randolph County, and one of the county's oldest residents,
she was born Feb. 14, 1875, a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary
Pyland Hufstedler. Her husband, Riley Lemmons, preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Leslie Moore of Reyno; 3 sons,
Louie, Vernon, and Guy Lemmons, all of Rt. 1, Pocahontas; 9
grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great
grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ellen Hollowell and Mrs. Lizzie
Fielden, both of Pocahontas; 3 brothers, Jeff and Henry Hufstedler,
both of N. Star Rt., Imboden, and W. W. Hufstedler of Egypt. Funeral
services were held at 10:30 a.m., today (Thursday) in Pyburn Street
Church of Christ with Albert G. Lemmons officiating. Interment
followed in Masonic Cemetery under direction of McNabb Funeral Home.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Riley J. Lemmons, aged 64, one of the county's most respected farmers,
died at his home on route 1, Tuesday night at 9:30 o'clock, following
an attack of pneumonia. Mr. Lemmons was born and reared in Randolph
county and was a member of the Church of Christ. Funeral services were
conducted from the Church of Christ in Pocahontas Wednesday afternoon
by Bro. Riley Henry of Walnut Ridge. Interment was in Masonic cemetery
here, under the direction of McNabb Undertaking Co. Survivors are is
wife; 3 sons, Louie, Vernon and Guy Lemmons; two daughters, Mrs.
Bethel Brown and Mrs. Leslie Moore; 8 granchildren; two brothers, G.
F. and A. T. Lemmons and a sister, Mrs. Vessie Bates. Nancy Jane HUFSTEDLER and John Riley LEMMONS had the following children:

Pocahontas passed away in St. Bernard's Regional Med. Center,
Jonesboro, Monday. He was born February 25, 1900 in Randolph County, a
son of the late Riley and Jane Hufstedler Lemmons. A leader in farming
for a half-century in Randolph County, Mrs. Lemmons served for some 40
years as a member of the Randolph County Agriculture Stabilization and
Conservation Committee. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Grace Mays
Lemmons of Geriatrics Nursing Home, Jonesboro; a son, Milton Lemmons
of Rt. 1, Pocahontas; a brother Vernon Lemmons of Pocahontas; a
sister, Mrs. Leslie Moore of Reyno. Three grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday in the Pyburn
Street Church of Christ with F. W. Gould officiating. Burial followed
in Randolph Memorial Gardens with McNabb's in charge.

away in Randolph County Hospital, Wednesday, Dec. 3. He was born at
Noland, May 27, 1904, a son of the late Riley and Jane Hufstedler
Lemmons. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Fannie Ivy Lemmons of the
home; 2 sons, Joe Lemmons of Rt. 1, Walnut Ridge and E. G. Lemmons of
Rt. 1, Pocahontas; 2 daughters, Mrs. Billie Sue Pender of Jackson,
Miss., and Mrs. Minnie Jane Davis of Pocahontas; 2 brothers, Vernon
Lemmons of Pocahontas and Louie Lemmons of Rt. 1, Pocahontas; a
sister, Mrs. Leslie Moore of Reyno; 10 grandchildren and 5 great
grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Friday in the
Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with the F. W. Gould and Perry Tinker
officiating. Burial followed in Masonic Cemetery with McNabb's in
charge. Pallbearers were Bob and Roe Hufstedler, Phillip Foster, James
Knotts, Junior Prince and Charles Smart.
